Why Rosie's Book?

While growing up, I had a dear friend, Renee, that lived next door and with whom I spent much of my childhood. We grew, in different directions, and went on our merry way. Many years later, I ran into her parents and they kindly reminded me of the laughs they still have over my book. “What book?” I wondered with a puzzled look. "I don't remember a book." Hardy laughter accompanied their response. At some time during our childhood, I tried to convince Renee about something that her parents didn’t agree with. I told her that proof of its truth could be found “in my book.” Naturally she went home and tried to convince her parents of the same thing but they weren’t falling for it. She needed an edge and told them emphatically, “It’s in Rosie’s book!” After they caught their breaths from reborn laughter, they let me know how “Rosie’s book” has been cited for many other things throughout the years. They’ve also mentioned that they’d like to see “Rosie’s book” one day. I can’t remember all of the things that I said were in “my book” but I’m sure my dear friend’s parents can recall much more than I ever knew about – LOL!!! So, here it is . . . my version of things you might find In Rosie’s Book . . .

Card Art with Copics: Chrysanthemum by Sara Burrier

This lovely fairy, gently holding a pompom Chrysanthemum in her hands, makes a lovely border for inspirational quotes and/or poems.  She has been designed by Sara Burrier exclusively for Crafts and Me Stamps and is available as a digital image.

Here's a closer view of my Copic-filled Chrysanthemum . . .

To form my easel card, I've layered blocks of Wild Rose Studio Spring Fling patterned papers with bright, coordinating smooth cardstock.  A Fiskars Greek Key punched edge borders the middle of the card near the wrapped sheer orange swirls ribbon.

An EK Success punched photo corner adorns one corner of my card front.  A few coordinating Basic Grey small buttons line my sentiment from a Stampin' Up! Summer by the Sea set.  Larger buttons are in line under the ribbon bow near my large handmade Chrysanthemum formed from a Fiskars Oopsie Daisy, Marvy Uchida daisy, EK Success daisy and oak leaf punches.  Here's a view of my card front . . .

The inside of my card holds a saying from a Stampin' Up! For Father set along with a handmade flower cluster consisting of the smaller daisy punched shapes.  All flower petals and leaves are painted with Diamond Stickles or Star Dust Stickles for amazing sparkle.  Here's a closer view of my flower cluster . . .

This pic shows the inside of my card . . .

Here's a view of my completed easel card, ready for display . . .

The wonderful designers At Joan's Gardens (here) are looking for six guests to showcase handmade flowers for their May 15th blog hop.  Flowers can be made from dies or punches.  Making handmade flowers makes me happy especially since I can make them using my project scraps so the flowers coordinate so well.  If you like to make handmade flowers then head over to Joan's and submit your entry while there's still time.

Copics used:
skin - E000, E01, E11, E93
hair - E31, E35, E47
gown - BG11, BG15, BG18
