Why Rosie's Book?

While growing up, I had a dear friend, Renee, that lived next door and with whom I spent much of my childhood. We grew, in different directions, and went on our merry way. Many years later, I ran into her parents and they kindly reminded me of the laughs they still have over my book. “What book?” I wondered with a puzzled look. "I don't remember a book." Hardy laughter accompanied their response. At some time during our childhood, I tried to convince Renee about something that her parents didn’t agree with. I told her that proof of its truth could be found “in my book.” Naturally she went home and tried to convince her parents of the same thing but they weren’t falling for it. She needed an edge and told them emphatically, “It’s in Rosie’s book!” After they caught their breaths from reborn laughter, they let me know how “Rosie’s book” has been cited for many other things throughout the years. They’ve also mentioned that they’d like to see “Rosie’s book” one day. I can’t remember all of the things that I said were in “my book” but I’m sure my dear friend’s parents can recall much more than I ever knew about – LOL!!! So, here it is . . . my version of things you might find In Rosie’s Book . . .

Card Art with Copics: Crafts and Me Stamps Sharlotta by Hannah Lynn

Crafts and Me Stamps carries a wonderful line of fantasy art images designed by Hannah Lynn.  I've used Sharlotta on a multi-layered card to share my gratitude.  You can find this image as a rubberstamp here.

This photo shows a closer view of my Copic-filled image.  The detail of this mermaid's tail shows an example of a fun Colorless Blender effect.

I've layered Pink Paislee Vintage Vogue Collage patterned paper with Bazzill Bling pastel cardstock.  Spellbinders Labels Five shapes my image.  Creative Impressions black mini brads accent each corner.  Surrounding my image and Just Rite Spring Words sentiment, you'll find paper flowers handmade with layers of a variety of Punch Bunch punches. Each of my handmade, color-coordinated gerber daisies, asters, coneflower, chrysanthemum and blossoms are lightly painted with Diamond Stickles for amazing sparkle.

The Digi Bells design team over at the Elisabeth Bell's World Challenge Blog wants to see your use of Autumn Colors.  A very lucky randomly selected entry will win TWO Elisabeth Bell digi images of their choice AND one of Elisabeth's Whimsy Stamps Cottage Cutie rubberstamps from Mikaelas Scrap In!  You can find out more about this challenge and sponsors here.

I've used this lovely digital image called Apple Bake designed by Elisabeth Bell.  You can find her at the Elisabeth Bell digital gallery here.

This pic shows a closer view of my Copic-filled image.

I've layered punched shapes from Punch Bunch punches to form my handmade chrysanthemums that surround the Inky Antics sentiment.  The flowers are lightly painted with Diamond Stickles for amazing shimmer.

Layers of Simple Stories Generations patterned paper with Bazzill cardstock form my card.  Vintage brass floral brads adorn each side of a layered border.  A couple of Cheery Lynn Designs die cut Mini Fanciful Flourishes provide some classy, leafy swirls.  Zva Creative rhinestone swirls add more sparkling movement.

Here's a view of the front of my completed side open card showing my use of Apple Bake, as designed by Elisabeth Bell, with Autumn Colors . . .

Elisabeth Bell's Little Miss Mouse Digi Bells' Blog Hop

To celebrate the newest addition to Elisabeth Bell's Digital Gallery (here), the Digi Bells Design Team is hosting a blog hop.

How can you win your own Little Miss Mouse digi image?  You'll have to hop through and leave comments on EACH blog.  [You can find the full list of 14 other blogs at the Digi Bells Design Team blog (here).]  Lynda will pick 2 blogs at random and the winners will be picked from those comments. The hoppers will have until Friday, Sept. 28, 2012 at 9 AM to leave comments. The winners will be posted at the Digi Bells' blog on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012.

Reminder:  Buying then sharing digital images is theft.  Sharing digital images takes income away from the artist.

* * * * *

I've used Little Miss Mouse on the front of a flip card.  A Spellbinders Labels 17 die cut shapes my image and adds the lovely detail of an embossed edge.  I love how using the "beyond the edge" technique allows this sweet little fairy's wings to flutter over the top.

Rather than my usual torn paper clouds, this time I've temporarily adhered die cuts from a My Favorite Things Die-namics Cloud Trio set, airbrushed around them, then removed the die cuts to add dimension with Copic colors W1, W0, W00 and 0.  I'm happy with the way these clouds look on this image - Yay!!!  You can find out more about this Masked Clouds technique at Beate Johns' tutorial for Whimsy Stamps Inspirations Magazine here.

I scanned my colored image, flipped it and printed an enlarged version onto cardstock.  I fussy cut Little Miss Mouse then covered her with Glossy Accents to create my own epoxy-like sticker.  She's a little blurry but VERY CUTE!!!  I love the way she appears to be reading the sentiment.

I've added a bit of WebstersPages Vintage Inspired netting, a Little Yellow Bicycle Fresh Print Clothes Line Flower Stick Pin, a couple of Prima Chloe mini flowers and a bit of Zva Creative rhinestone swirls to my handmade flower cluster.  StarDust Stickles, lightly painted over my punched daisies, adds wonderful sparkle.

Layers of Bazzill cardstock with patterned papers from a Wild Rose Studio Spring Fling paper pack provide the base for my card.

Here's a view of my completed card front showcasing my use of Elisabeth Bell's Little Miss Mouse digi image.  I added a small sentiment from a Stampin' Up! All Year Cheer I set.

This pic shows my flip card partly open so you can see how the card opens with a slight view of the Crafty Secrets large Home Sweet Home set greeting and my handmade Little Miss Mouse sticker.  I also used Copic colors directly on a clear stamp for the top border using the "clean" stamping technique. Want2Scrap individual rhinestones are set at each corner of my sentiment area.  I did use a Stampin' Up! scalloped border punch for a center border and then I covered most of it up!  LOL!!!  Only bits of it peek through on the inside.

Crafts and Me Stamps Challenge: Roses

The Dynamite Digi design team over at the Crafts and Me Stamps' challenge blog wants to see your roses.  Crafts and Me Stamps is sponsoring this challenge and offering THREE digital images to a randomly selected entry. You can find out more about this challenge here.

I've used a digi image named Christmas Robin, designed by Crafts and Me Stamps' newest artist Sue Rundle-Hughes.  This fabulous snowy scene is loaded with gorgeous detail for your coloring pleasure.  You can get your own Christmas Robin here.

Here's a closer view of my Copic-filled image.  I die cut my image using an old Sizzix original scalloped tag.  I added some glimmering texture to the background snowy areas by using a microtip applicator to pounce tiny amounts of Adirondack Metallics Acrylic "Pearl" paint over some areas.  I added Marvy Uchida Liquid Applique' over the flower pot in the front.  Copic Opaque White acrylic paint defines the falling snowflakes.  Whew!  Lots going on here!

I created my own robin charm by printing the full image onto Grafix Ink Jet Shrink Film.  I used Copic colors to fill in the robin, cut it out, punched a hole to hold a jump ring then shrunk it using my heat tool.

I've layered Memory Box Yuletide collection papers with Bazzill cardstock and Bo Bunny's double dots in yellow to form my easel card.  I added a border of faux stitching with a Zig Pure Green marker.

Using Quilled Creations Blooming Roses dies to die cut my swirls, I rolled three sizes of coordinating roses.  A few swipes of Adirondack Metallics Acrylic Pearl paint across the tips of the rose petals gives the appearance that snow fell on the petals.  Cheery Lynn Designs Mini Fanciful Flourish and McGill pine branch punches surround my image and bird cage.

Here's a view of my completed card front showing how I've added roses to my card using the digital image called Christmas Robin by Sue Rundle-Hughes.  I've die cut Tim Holtz idea-ology grungepaper using a Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations Caged Bird die and painted over it using an Adirondack Metallics Acrylic Silver paint dabber.  A Darice Favor gold bell is tied on using Michael's Metallic Cord. A Lifestyle Crafts Antique Doily rests in the background.

and a view of the base showing an Inkadinkado sentiment die cut with a Sizzix Tags Scallop Combo #2 . . .

Card Art with Copics: Crafts and Me Stamps Foxgloves by Janna Prosvirina

Crafts and Me Stamps carries an exclusive line of fabulous rubberstamps designed by one of their newest artists Janna Prosvirina.  I've used Foxgloves on an inspirational card.  You can find this image as a rubberstamp here.

This photo shows a closer view of my Copic-filled image.  This was a perfect image for using the feather blending technique to smoothly transition the addition of different color families.  I also added thin layers of light colors to the background then spotted my colorless blender for a mottled effect.

To allow this detailed image to shine, I added just a few paper flowers handmade with Punch Bunch punches.  Here's a closer view of my handmade bell flowers lightly painted with Diamond Stickles for amazing sparkle.

I've layered patterned papers from a Memory Box Viola paper pad with Bazzill cardstock.  A Spellbinders Large Labels die cut frames my image.  The sentiment is from a Close To My Heart Pair-a-Phrase set.

Card Art with Copics: Crafts and Me Stamps Night Time Fairy by Zindy S.D. Nielsen

Crafts and Me Stamps carries an exclusive line of fantastic life-like stamps designed by one of their newest artists Zindy S.D. Nielsen.  I've used Night Time Fairy on a multi-layered card to share sweet thoughts.  You can find this image as a rubberstamp here.

This photo shows a closer view of my Copic-filled image.  A Spellbinders Large Label frames my image.

Surrounding my image you'll find clusters of paper flowers handmade with layers of a variety of Punch Bunch punches.  Here's a closer view of my handmade, color-coordinated gerber daisies, bachelors buttons, asters and blossoms lightly painted with Diamond Stickles for amazing sparkle . . .

I've layered older DCWV Old World Stack patterned paper with Bazzill cardstock that includes a touch of faux stitching.  A sentiment from a Hero Arts Simple Messages set expresses sweet thoughts.  Doodlebug Designs Bright Sugar Coated Brads accent one corner.  A bit of Offray 1/8" ribbon provides a triple bow.

Card Art with Copics: Elisabeth Bell's Eden's 2nd Christmas

I love the wonder in this toddler's expression as she reaches to touch the shining ornament that hangs within her reach just above a sweet gift of the perfect teddy bear waiting under a decorated Christmas tree.  This digital image is named Eden's 2nd Christmas and was designed by Elisabeth Bell.  You can get your own Eden's 2nd Christmas at the Elisabeth Bell's Digital Gallery here.

This photo shows my Copic-filled image.  Rather than reduce the entire digital image to fit within my 2" block, I trimmed parts of the larger image away.

I've layered Bazzill dark brown cardstock with Bo Bunny's Time Piece Collection's patterned paper to form my Round Side Step Card.  A Spellbinder's Lace Doily Motifs square adds a delicate frame to my image.  I found it very difficult to remove the cardstock from that intricately detailed die that resulted in a tear that I had to hide.  Has anyone found an easy way to remove the die cut from this die?

Behind my image stands a Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations chipboard Pine Tree that I covered with green cardstock before diecutting.  At the base of the tree, I've added old Sizzix medium Gifts made from chipboard covered with paper before diecutting.  The Teddy Bear is also made from an old Sizzix Teddy Bear die.  I love the dimension that the chipboard covered with cardstock creates to diecuts.  The bow at the bear's collar adds a nice touch.  Teddy's eyes and nose are covered with Ranger's Enamel Accents in black for real-life sparkle.

This photo of the side view of my Round Side Step Card shows the tree and accompanying gifts . . .

I've used Punch Bunch punches to create a cluster of handmade large and medium poinsettias, that are layered over a Cheery Lynn Designs Fanciful Flourish and Mini Fanciful Flourish to surround my image.  A QuicKutz Holly Leaves with a Doodlebug Designs Crushed Velvet Brad lies at the bottom of my round card front.

Here's a view of my round side-step card showcasing my use of Elisabeth Bell's Eden's 2nd Christmas digital image . . .

Crafts and Me Stamps Challenge: Add a Flower

The Dynamite Digi design team over at the Crafts and Me Stamps' challenge blog wants to see you add a flower to your projects.  Crafts and Me Stamps is sponsoring this challenge and offering THREE digital images to a randomly selected entry. You can find out more about this challenge here.

I've used a digi image named Vixie, designed by Hannah Lynn, exclusively for Crafts and Me Stamps.  This lovely vampiress with a spider weaving its web through her hair while she cuddles her sweet kitty makes a fantastic Halloween image!

Here's a closer view of my Copic-filled image.

I've layered Pink Paislee Vintage Vogue Collage papers with Bazzill Raven and smooth green cardstock to form my card.  A few Doodlebug Designs Sugar Coated Brads in bright purple sparkle and shimmer over my image.

A black cat eyelet rests in the center of a sentiment from a Close To My Heart Pair-a-Phrase set shaped with a Marvy Uchida 2" oval and matted with a 2 1/2" scalloped oval punch.  Black Prima Say It In Crystals add a glistening element.  A brass spider charm, attached to a couple of Bazzill Basics black posie paper flowers with a Tim Holtz idea-ology long brass fastener and Prima Heirloom pecan paper leaf, provides a dimensional treat.

Here's a view of my completed card front showing how I've added a flower to my card using the digital image called Vixie by Hannah Lynn . . .

Simple layering with a lighter pattern on the inside allows me to include a personal note to someone special . . .

Card Art with Copics: Crafts and Me Stamps Kara by Hannah Lynn

Crafts and Me Stamps carries an exclusive line of amazing fantasy images designed by American artist Hannah Lynn.  I've used Kara on a multi-layered card to share Halloween wishes.  You can find this digital image here.

This photo shows a closer view of my Copic-filled image.

Surrounding my image you'll find clusters of paper flowers handmade with layers of Punch Bunch small cosmos and mini sun punches and Cheery Lynn Designs Build a Flower #1 dies.  Here's a closer view of my handmade mini asters and spider mums.  The centers are lightly painted with Diamond Stickles for amazing sparkle . . .

My sentiment tag from a Stampin' Up! Eat, Drink and Be Scary set holds an Offray 1/8" black ribbon and is bordered by die cuts from QuicKutz.  Die cuts of the wine bottle, candy minis and skull and crossbones from the Flag die are coated with glossy accents for dimensional shine.

I've layered older Echo Park Happy Halloween Costume Party chevron, Haunted House and Spooky Dots patterns with Bazzill green, gray and purple cardstocks.  A Spellbinders Halloween 2 - Spider Hat die cut and embossed spider web hangs from one corner.  Several bat and pumpkin brads from a Making Memories Halloween mini brad pack line two corners of my card.

Here's a photo of my completed card front showing my use of Crafts and Me Stamps' Kara image as designed by Hannah Lynn . . .

On the inside, a simple layer with a light sheet, bordered by a Martha Stewart bats border punch, then wrapped by a 3/8" Halloween printed ribbon, allows me to include a personal note to someone special . . .
