Why Rosie's Book?

While growing up, I had a dear friend, Renee, that lived next door and with whom I spent much of my childhood. We grew, in different directions, and went on our merry way. Many years later, I ran into her parents and they kindly reminded me of the laughs they still have over my book. “What book?” I wondered with a puzzled look. "I don't remember a book." Hardy laughter accompanied their response. At some time during our childhood, I tried to convince Renee about something that her parents didn’t agree with. I told her that proof of its truth could be found “in my book.” Naturally she went home and tried to convince her parents of the same thing but they weren’t falling for it. She needed an edge and told them emphatically, “It’s in Rosie’s book!” After they caught their breaths from reborn laughter, they let me know how “Rosie’s book” has been cited for many other things throughout the years. They’ve also mentioned that they’d like to see “Rosie’s book” one day. I can’t remember all of the things that I said were in “my book” but I’m sure my dear friend’s parents can recall much more than I ever knew about – LOL!!! So, here it is . . . my version of things you might find In Rosie’s Book . . .

Card Art with Copics: Emerald Faeries Stamps Ebony

This sweet and magical digital image called Ebony was designed by Linda Catchlove for Emerald Faeries Stamps.  You can find her at the A and T Digital Designs Shop here.

Creating card art that mixes fantasy with reality is very high on my list of favorite things to do.  I also enjoy adding classic, handmade coordinating elements to my projects.  Sweet images like this beautifully designed Ebony make it very easy and SO MUCH FUN for me!

This pic shows a closer view of my Copic-filled image.  Ebony decorated a bit for a Christmastime by adding some lights to her 'shroom so Santa could find her.  He DID and left a nice pressie for her too!!!  Yay!!!  (I've used the QuicKutz 2008 Holly Jolly cookie cutter die set to include the string of lights and trees.  An old Making Memories Charmed variety pack included the perfect metal gift to add here.)

I've layered Bo Bunny's Snowfall Collection "Snowfall Blizzard" and "Snowfall Wintertime" glittery patterned papers with Bazzill cardstock to form my easel card.  A Michael's 3/8" sparkling aqua ribbon provides a lovely bow.  A silver snowflake eyelet adorns each side of the horizontal border.  A holly jolly sentiment from a Hot Off The Press Christmas Art set lies beside my image.  I've used the QuicKutz Santa and Reindeer die cuts in black to appear as a silhouette in the background.

Here's a view of the front of my completed easel card showing my use of Ebony, as designed for Emerald Faeries Stamps, with a snowy Christmas theme . . .

This view of the base shows the continuation of my snowy Christmas theme.  I've included a Stampin' Up! 2006 Alphabet Soup jingle all the way sentiment with Hot Off The Press Christmas Art small snowflakes stamped in the background using Adirondack Cloudy Blue dye ink.

Here's how my easel card looks when open . . .
