Why Rosie's Book?

While growing up, I had a dear friend, Renee, that lived next door and with whom I spent much of my childhood. We grew, in different directions, and went on our merry way. Many years later, I ran into her parents and they kindly reminded me of the laughs they still have over my book. “What book?” I wondered with a puzzled look. "I don't remember a book." Hardy laughter accompanied their response. At some time during our childhood, I tried to convince Renee about something that her parents didn’t agree with. I told her that proof of its truth could be found “in my book.” Naturally she went home and tried to convince her parents of the same thing but they weren’t falling for it. She needed an edge and told them emphatically, “It’s in Rosie’s book!” After they caught their breaths from reborn laughter, they let me know how “Rosie’s book” has been cited for many other things throughout the years. They’ve also mentioned that they’d like to see “Rosie’s book” one day. I can’t remember all of the things that I said were in “my book” but I’m sure my dear friend’s parents can recall much more than I ever knew about – LOL!!! So, here it is . . . my version of things you might find In Rosie’s Book . . .

Crafts and Me Stamps Challenge: Why So Blue? = No Blues Allowed

The Dynamite Digi design team over at the Crafts and Me Stamps' challenge blog wants you to keep the blues out of your projects.  Crafts and Me Stamps is sponsoring this challenge and offering THREE digital images to a randomly selected entry. You can find out more about this challenge here.

When you want to convey the mood of a rich, bold and lavish eclectic style, Art Deco images are the perfect match.  The images usually contain formal wear and show what appears to be the very best in taste and style no matter the variety of sources.

I've used newly released Art Deco Rita for an unusual yet elegant Christmas card.  You can find this lovely digital image here.  Here's a closer view of my Copic-filled image showing my attempts at making a black leather lounge chair.

I've layered a piece of Anna Griffin Animal Print flocked wild cheetah paper with Bazzill cardstock to create my side open card.  Lifestyle Crafts Large Circles dies shape my image and repeat the circular element of the frame in the image.  Black lace with velour trim forms a border and adds a decorative element to carry the softness of the flocking throughout my card.  A Tim Holtz idea-ology accoutrement fanciful button tops the lacey trim element.

I've cut a pheasant tail from a Zucker Feather Products pack and added a natural feather that I once found on the ground in South Carolina to carry the flow from Rita's hat into my card.  A few Recollections mulberry paper roses keep my feathers in place.  My Dymo Label Maker provided the perfect holiday greeting for supporting my card.  A few Prima Say It In Crystals black rhinestone swirls add a bit of bling to my elegant theme.

Here's a view of the front of my completed side open card showing how I've used Art Deco Rita and kept the blues out of my card to share holiday greetings.

The inside of the card contains a border of the flocked wild cheetah pattern with plenty of room to add a special handwritten note and/or stamped sentiment.

You've just got to hop over to the Crafts and Me Stamps Challenge blog to see how the amazingly talented Dynamite Digi girls have shown how they've kept the blues out of their fabulous projects while using Crafts and Me Stamps digital images.
