Why Rosie's Book?

While growing up, I had a dear friend, Renee, that lived next door and with whom I spent much of my childhood. We grew, in different directions, and went on our merry way. Many years later, I ran into her parents and they kindly reminded me of the laughs they still have over my book. “What book?” I wondered with a puzzled look. "I don't remember a book." Hardy laughter accompanied their response. At some time during our childhood, I tried to convince Renee about something that her parents didn’t agree with. I told her that proof of its truth could be found “in my book.” Naturally she went home and tried to convince her parents of the same thing but they weren’t falling for it. She needed an edge and told them emphatically, “It’s in Rosie’s book!” After they caught their breaths from reborn laughter, they let me know how “Rosie’s book” has been cited for many other things throughout the years. They’ve also mentioned that they’d like to see “Rosie’s book” one day. I can’t remember all of the things that I said were in “my book” but I’m sure my dear friend’s parents can recall much more than I ever knew about – LOL!!! So, here it is . . . my version of things you might find In Rosie’s Book . . .

Sizzix Post-it Memo Holder with Some Odd Girl's Sweater Pup

This happy and loving digi critter image called Sweater Pup was designed by Some Odd Girl owner/artist Kristy Dalman.  You can find this pup at the Some Odd Girl online shop here.

I've printed Sweater Pup three times with the intention of paper piecing him for a lovely paper-toile effect.  The pattern for his sweater matches the inside of my project.

This pic shows a closer view of my Copic-filled image.

I adhered Bo Bunny's Tis The Season Treasure double-sided patterned papers over both sides of a piece of chipboard from the back of a paper pack then die cut it using the Sizzix Scoreboards Bigz Memo Holder die.

Here's a view of the front of my completed Post-it Memo Holder showing my use of Sweater Pup, as designed for Some Odd Girl, with a simple snowy, loving Christmas theme.  I've attached a Tim Holtz idea-ology hitch fastener to act as a pull knob for opening.  A paw charm from a Boxer Cat Charm Mix hangs from an eyelet with a mini bell from a jump ring.  A Making Memories Charmed Variety pack provided a wonderful metal snowflake accent.  A Tattered Angels Vintage Seasons Timeless Romance clear stamps set provided the perfect loving sentiment to support my layered Sweater Pup image.

 Here's a view of the back . . .

One of the many, many, many things that I love about using Copic colors is how I can make my stash of white grosgrain ribbon coordinate with my projects. Here I've used the chisel tip of BG13 to add color to both sides of my ribbon for the 3/8" handle and inside 1/4" pencil roll holder. When the Copic color dries, the ribbon is a little stiffer so it holds its shape nicely.

Here's how my Post-its Memo Holder looks when open . . . I've used fabri-tac to adhere two ribbon rolls to the top to secure a removable golf pencil.  The Basic Grey large magnetic discs hold the Post-its Memo Holder closed tightly.
