Why Rosie's Book?

While growing up, I had a dear friend, Renee, that lived next door and with whom I spent much of my childhood. We grew, in different directions, and went on our merry way. Many years later, I ran into her parents and they kindly reminded me of the laughs they still have over my book. “What book?” I wondered with a puzzled look. "I don't remember a book." Hardy laughter accompanied their response. At some time during our childhood, I tried to convince Renee about something that her parents didn’t agree with. I told her that proof of its truth could be found “in my book.” Naturally she went home and tried to convince her parents of the same thing but they weren’t falling for it. She needed an edge and told them emphatically, “It’s in Rosie’s book!” After they caught their breaths from reborn laughter, they let me know how “Rosie’s book” has been cited for many other things throughout the years. They’ve also mentioned that they’d like to see “Rosie’s book” one day. I can’t remember all of the things that I said were in “my book” but I’m sure my dear friend’s parents can recall much more than I ever knew about – LOL!!! So, here it is . . . my version of things you might find In Rosie’s Book . . .

Crafts and Me Challenge: Let the Music Move You!

The Dynamite Digi team at the Crafts and Me Challenge blog wants to see your papercrafting projects showing how you Let the Music Move You!  Crafts and Me Stamps is offering 3 digital stamps of the winner's choice to a randomly selected entry.  You can find out more about this challenge here.

You can find the right words for nearly any image if you let yourself be inspired by lyrics from music that you enjoy.  Even the image of a cupcake can be musically inspiring when paired with a Happy Birthday to You sentiment surrounded by musical notes in your background paper, die cuts or other embellishments.

I've used a recently released Christmas Fireplace image.  This photo shows how I've used my Copic colors to fill this warm image.  I've painted Diamond Stickles over the tree and holly for sparkle.  A touch of Liquid Applique' in white adds some fluff to the top of my stockings.

I used Bazzill Bling green and cranberry cardstock to form my easel card.  My Minds Eye 2010 Holly Jolly "Old St. Nick" paper provides my background musical note pattern.  Tim Holtz Idea-ology tissue tape "Symphony" adds a pleated bottom border.  My image is cut and matted using Spellbinders Labels 15.  A Memory Box Holly Vine borders one side of my card.  A few McGill pine branch punches and Recollections mulberry paper mini roses provide light embellishing.

This photo shows the front of my easel card that includes an appropriate computer-generated quote from the song "Let It Snow."

This view shows the inside base of my easel card with this wonderful sentiment by Artful Legacy.

Here's a side view of my opened easel card . . .
