Why Rosie's Book?

While growing up, I had a dear friend, Renee, that lived next door and with whom I spent much of my childhood. We grew, in different directions, and went on our merry way. Many years later, I ran into her parents and they kindly reminded me of the laughs they still have over my book. “What book?” I wondered with a puzzled look. "I don't remember a book." Hardy laughter accompanied their response. At some time during our childhood, I tried to convince Renee about something that her parents didn’t agree with. I told her that proof of its truth could be found “in my book.” Naturally she went home and tried to convince her parents of the same thing but they weren’t falling for it. She needed an edge and told them emphatically, “It’s in Rosie’s book!” After they caught their breaths from reborn laughter, they let me know how “Rosie’s book” has been cited for many other things throughout the years. They’ve also mentioned that they’d like to see “Rosie’s book” one day. I can’t remember all of the things that I said were in “my book” but I’m sure my dear friend’s parents can recall much more than I ever knew about – LOL!!! So, here it is . . . my version of things you might find In Rosie’s Book . . .

Card Art with Copics: Crafts and Me Stamps Fairy with Dried Flowers by Jasmine Becket-Griffith

I'm happy to participate in this fortnight's Creative Craft photo inspiration challenge as a guest designer.  It's an honor to have one of my entries selected by such talented artists as one of their Top 3 and be invited to submit a creation to be displayed along with their design team projects.  Many thanks to Sandra and the rest of the CCC design team!  (You can find out more about this Creative Craft photo inspiration challenge and their sponsor here.)

This sweet fantasy rubberstamped image is named Fairy with Dried Flowers and is designed by artist Jasmine Becket-Griffith for Crafts and Me Stamps.  Nearly all of Ms. Becket-Griffith's easily recognizable images are created as caricatures of herself.

Here's a closer view of my Copic-filled Fairy with Dried Flowers image.  Flower Soft in handmixed greens with fuchsia and bright pink add some dimension to her dried flower garland.

I've layered Die Cuts With a View (DCWV) Glittered All Dressed Up glamorous prints in dots and stripes with cranberry, pink and black cardstock.  My image rests on a Spellbinders Heart Squares frame.  A touch of Offray 1/8" pink ribbon wraps around the center of my card and adds a double bow to my flower cluster.  Home Pro metal corners and Spellbinders butterflies, coated with Rock Candy Distress Stickles and Diamond Stickles surround my image.  My sentiment is from Outlines Rubberstamps.

My flower cluster consists of a medley of Prima Gillian Raspberry, Fairytale Roses Baby Pink, Pixie Tin Chloe, Petaloo Dazzlers Small Florettes, a pom-pom flower and punched Paper Shaper oak leaves.

This photo shows my completed card front where I've used Jasmine Becket-Griffith's Fairy with Dried Flowers rubberstamp . . .
