Why Rosie's Book?

While growing up, I had a dear friend, Renee, that lived next door and with whom I spent much of my childhood. We grew, in different directions, and went on our merry way. Many years later, I ran into her parents and they kindly reminded me of the laughs they still have over my book. “What book?” I wondered with a puzzled look. "I don't remember a book." Hardy laughter accompanied their response. At some time during our childhood, I tried to convince Renee about something that her parents didn’t agree with. I told her that proof of its truth could be found “in my book.” Naturally she went home and tried to convince her parents of the same thing but they weren’t falling for it. She needed an edge and told them emphatically, “It’s in Rosie’s book!” After they caught their breaths from reborn laughter, they let me know how “Rosie’s book” has been cited for many other things throughout the years. They’ve also mentioned that they’d like to see “Rosie’s book” one day. I can’t remember all of the things that I said were in “my book” but I’m sure my dear friend’s parents can recall much more than I ever knew about – LOL!!! So, here it is . . . my version of things you might find In Rosie’s Book . . .

Card Art with Copics: Market Street Stamps Autumn Greetings

I'm so happy to participate in this week's Do You Stack Up brad challenge as a guest designer.  It's such an honor to be invited to submit a creation to be displayed along with the Do You Stack Up team projects.  Many thanks to Alison, Ren-Yi, Pauline and the rest of the DYSU design team for allowing me to participate in this challenge as a guest!  (You can find out more about this Market Street Stamps sponsored challenge and the wonderfully talented Do You Stack Up design team here.)

I had way too much fun playing with the images in this wonderful Market Street Stamps Autumn Greetings set and mixed masking with paper piecing to create my pocket card with tag insert.

Here's a closer view of my Copic-filled image showing how I've used masking to insert the sunflower bunch into a pumpkin and added additional pumpkins.  Vintage Photo Distress Stickles covers my sunflower centers.  The pumpkin vine is a fabulous digital image cut by my QuicKutz Silhouette electronic cutter.  I spritzed the vine with Tattered Angels Creme de Chocolat Glimmer Mist for a bit of a natural, dirty effect.

I stamped my scarecrow image onto several patterned paper scraps and shaded the parts of the image that I wanted to use for paper piecing.

This pic shows the tag insert after I adhered my paper pieced scarecrow.  The tag was die cut using a Sizzix Super Scallop Tag original die.  EK Success Tonal Adornment fun fibers are tied through a We R Memory Keepers large bubble brights eyelet.  I used My Favorite Things Die-namics Cloud Trio for masking to airbrush around my clouds.

I've layered daisyd's Autumn Collection 2007 patterned paper with Bazzill cardstock to form my pocket card.  I used a Fiskars Diamond Border Punch for a trellis-look for my pocket.

This photo shows my completed pocket card front where I've used Market Street Stamps Autumn Greetings images.  A die cut QuicKutz wheelbarrow accents my QuicKutz Santa's Workshop Ovals die cut sentiment that is part of the Market Street Stamps Autumn Greetings set.  The adorning pumpkin brads are from a Making Memories Halloween mini brad pack.

And here's the inside of my card showing another Copic-filled, masked sunflower/pumpkin image and a couple of die cut pumpkin leaves surrounded by a trellis-looking border made by the Fiskars Diamond Border punch . . .
