Why Rosie's Book?

While growing up, I had a dear friend, Renee, that lived next door and with whom I spent much of my childhood. We grew, in different directions, and went on our merry way. Many years later, I ran into her parents and they kindly reminded me of the laughs they still have over my book. “What book?” I wondered with a puzzled look. "I don't remember a book." Hardy laughter accompanied their response. At some time during our childhood, I tried to convince Renee about something that her parents didn’t agree with. I told her that proof of its truth could be found “in my book.” Naturally she went home and tried to convince her parents of the same thing but they weren’t falling for it. She needed an edge and told them emphatically, “It’s in Rosie’s book!” After they caught their breaths from reborn laughter, they let me know how “Rosie’s book” has been cited for many other things throughout the years. They’ve also mentioned that they’d like to see “Rosie’s book” one day. I can’t remember all of the things that I said were in “my book” but I’m sure my dear friend’s parents can recall much more than I ever knew about – LOL!!! So, here it is . . . my version of things you might find In Rosie’s Book . . .

Simply Decorated Sizzix Post-it Memo Holder

These post-it note holders make wonderful and practical gifts.  A 3x3" post-it note pad fits perfectly inside.

I adhered KaiserCraft Gypsy Sisters Collection "Esmeralda" double-sided patterned papers over both sides of a piece of chipboard from the back of a paper pack then die cut it using the Sizzix Scoreboards Bigz Memo Holder die.

Here's a view of the front of my completed Post-it Memo Holder showing my use of Petaloo Dazzlers, Flora Doodles Sweetpeas and Prima's Pixie Tin Pia flowers over a scrap of cheesecloth for light embellishing.  I've attached a Tim Holtz idea-ology hitch fastener to act as a pull knob for opening.  A K&Company Sea Glass Metal Art seahorse charm hangs from an eyelet with a jump ring.  A touch of Diamond Stickles painted over a die cut from a Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations On the Edge Twigs die provided the perfect sparkling coral or sea weed for my under-the-sea theme.  I've used the chisel tip of my Copic RV69 over 3/8" white grosgrain ribbon to coordinate the handle and 1/4" white grosgrain ribbon to coordinate the inside pencil rolls.

Even the back looks nice with a pretty patterned paper.

On the inside, I use fabri-tac to adhere two 1/4" ribbon rolls at the top to secure a removable golf pencil.  First, I rolled two pieces of ribbon tightly around my pencil barrel and secured the ribbon ends with a small amount of fabri-tac.  When the ribbon rolls dried and while still around the pencil barrel, I added more fabri-tac to the back of the ribbon rolls to adhere them to the inside of the memo holder.  The pencil easily moves in and out of the rolls.

Here's how my Post-its Memo Holder looks when open . . . The Basic Grey large magnetic discs hold the Post-its Memo Holder closed tightly.
