Why Rosie's Book?

While growing up, I had a dear friend, Renee, that lived next door and with whom I spent much of my childhood. We grew, in different directions, and went on our merry way. Many years later, I ran into her parents and they kindly reminded me of the laughs they still have over my book. “What book?” I wondered with a puzzled look. "I don't remember a book." Hardy laughter accompanied their response. At some time during our childhood, I tried to convince Renee about something that her parents didn’t agree with. I told her that proof of its truth could be found “in my book.” Naturally she went home and tried to convince her parents of the same thing but they weren’t falling for it. She needed an edge and told them emphatically, “It’s in Rosie’s book!” After they caught their breaths from reborn laughter, they let me know how “Rosie’s book” has been cited for many other things throughout the years. They’ve also mentioned that they’d like to see “Rosie’s book” one day. I can’t remember all of the things that I said were in “my book” but I’m sure my dear friend’s parents can recall much more than I ever knew about – LOL!!! So, here it is . . . my version of things you might find In Rosie’s Book . . .

Crafts and Me Stamps Challenge: Favorite Color Combo

The Dynamite Digi design team over at the Crafts and Me Stamps' challenge blog wants to see your Favorite Color Combo used on your projects.  Crafts and Me Stamps is sponsoring this challenge and offering ONE of the newly released Hannah Lynn rubberstamps to a randomly selected entry. You can find out more about this challenge here.

This is a tough challenge for me as I do love all colors.  I usually let my image draw me toward the colors that will best highlight the image.

For this challenge I've used a newly released Fairy Cake Gardener image by Sue Rundel-Hughes on a side-open birthday card.  You can find this lovely digital image here.  The wonderful hearts sprinkled over the icing, shown in the butterfly wings and over the fairy's clothing make this a wonderful Valentine and/or loving image.  Here's a closer view of my Copic-filled image.

Best Creations 6x6 Glitter Paper A Walk In The Garden is layered with Bazzill cardstock.  A Satin Sensations 5/8" Citrus ribbon and bow, with a layer of Creative Imaginations felt flower ribbon, borders the top of my card.

Here's a view of the front of my card showing how I've used Fairy Cake Gardener to convey an outdoor fairy habitat theme.  A Morning Star "sprinkled" sentiment fits nicely in an open upper corner.  A few handmade accent daisies are clustered in the lower corner.

The inside of the card is designed similar to the front and includes a birthday sentiment from a Stampin' Up! Elegant Greetings set.  I stamped directly over the textured Bazzill bling cardstock then used my Copic Multiliner 0.03 to darken the missed areas of the stamped sentiment.

You've got to hop over to the Crafts and Me Stamps Challenge blog to see how the amazingly talented Dynamite Digi girls have shown their favorite color combos while using Crafts and Me Stamps digital images.

Love this, Rose. Great idea to use 6x6 paper for the bottom scene. I never know how to use that kind of paper since I don't like to cut it up. Thanks for hte inspiration! Your coloring is fantastic - love the "glow" behind the image!
