Why Rosie's Book?

While growing up, I had a dear friend, Renee, that lived next door and with whom I spent much of my childhood. We grew, in different directions, and went on our merry way. Many years later, I ran into her parents and they kindly reminded me of the laughs they still have over my book. “What book?” I wondered with a puzzled look. "I don't remember a book." Hardy laughter accompanied their response. At some time during our childhood, I tried to convince Renee about something that her parents didn’t agree with. I told her that proof of its truth could be found “in my book.” Naturally she went home and tried to convince her parents of the same thing but they weren’t falling for it. She needed an edge and told them emphatically, “It’s in Rosie’s book!” After they caught their breaths from reborn laughter, they let me know how “Rosie’s book” has been cited for many other things throughout the years. They’ve also mentioned that they’d like to see “Rosie’s book” one day. I can’t remember all of the things that I said were in “my book” but I’m sure my dear friend’s parents can recall much more than I ever knew about – LOL!!! So, here it is . . . my version of things you might find In Rosie’s Book . . .

Card Art with Copics: Ladybug Crafts Ink 40

There's still time to join The Lovely Ladybugs over at the Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge blog with your Springtime projects.  Enter your Springtime project for a chance to win TWO fabulous Ladybug Crafts Ink cling stamps (or FOUR if you use a Ladybug Crafts image!).  You can find out more about this challenge and the wonderfully talented Ladybugs here.

I'm thrilled to have a chance to use this wonderful recently released Through The Ages 40 digital image to create a sparkling Springtime birthday card.

This view shows my Copic-filled image.  Once my Copic color was dry, I painted a thin coating of Firefly Stickles over my numbers and Yellow Stickles over my candle flames.  As I intend to give this card to a dear friend who is in her 40's, I used my Copic black multiliner to add a + sign on the heart.  This simple addition allows me to use this image for alot more birthdays than just the milestone age of 40.  Besides, a good friend remembers your birthday . . . but not your age!  LOL!!!

Layers of Bazzill cardstock with Basic Grey Romani Archangel patterned paper forms my side-open card.  A strip of Doodle Bug Designs Baby Girl Baby's Breath small flower paper adds a bit of green to my paper border.  A Satin Sensations 5/8" Light Pink satin ribbon forms a border and bow.  A Me & My Big Ideas icons mini flowers multi rhinestone flower lies on top of my sentiment while several Bazzill Basics pink jewels add some bling to two corners of my image.  A Prima Gillian Raspberry flower with Prima Fairytale Roses Baby Pink and off white paper roses are clustered in a lower corner.

Here's a view of my completed card front showcasing Ladybug Crafts Ink Through The Ages 40 that includes a special sentiment from a Close To My Heart Card Chatter - Birthday set.  I printed the computer-generated "something" using Braggadocio font in size 16 with my image.

The inside is decorated similar to the front and includes a stamped sentiment from the same Close To My Heart Card Chatter - Birthday set.

Welcome to the "Lace &/or Ribbon" Challenge Rose...I like the colors you chose with the pink and green. The combined Copics and Stickles turned out great and your embellishments are nice details.
Good luck - and watch for the Craft Your Passion challenge again next Monday!
