Why Rosie's Book?

While growing up, I had a dear friend, Renee, that lived next door and with whom I spent much of my childhood. We grew, in different directions, and went on our merry way. Many years later, I ran into her parents and they kindly reminded me of the laughs they still have over my book. “What book?” I wondered with a puzzled look. "I don't remember a book." Hardy laughter accompanied their response. At some time during our childhood, I tried to convince Renee about something that her parents didn’t agree with. I told her that proof of its truth could be found “in my book.” Naturally she went home and tried to convince her parents of the same thing but they weren’t falling for it. She needed an edge and told them emphatically, “It’s in Rosie’s book!” After they caught their breaths from reborn laughter, they let me know how “Rosie’s book” has been cited for many other things throughout the years. They’ve also mentioned that they’d like to see “Rosie’s book” one day. I can’t remember all of the things that I said were in “my book” but I’m sure my dear friend’s parents can recall much more than I ever knew about – LOL!!! So, here it is . . . my version of things you might find In Rosie’s Book . . .

Elisabeth Bell's World Challenge: Animal Antics

The Digi Bells design team over at the Elisabeth Bell's World Challenge Blog wants to see your projects showing animals.  A very lucky randomly selected entry will win TWO Elisabeth Bell digi images of their choice AND a fabulous prize from Whimsy Stamps!  You can find out more about this challenge and sponsors here.

I've used this sweet rubberstamp image called Meadow Magic from the Little Cottage Cuties Collection designed by Elisabeth Bell for Whimsy Stamps.  You can find this lovely angel happily dressing her friendly snowman with the help of her little bird buddies at the Whimsy Stamps online store here.

This pic shows a closer view of my Copic-filled image.

Layers of Bazzill cardstock with Authentique's "Beautiful" flowered paper form my side open card.  Faux stitching provides a contrasting border.  A few Recollections black mini brads are lined in two corners.  A Hot Off the Press Christmas Art "warm tidings" sentiment is surrounded by QuicKutz revolution Flourish 3 die cuts, Zva Creative rhinestone swirls, a Prima Sugar Plum Rose in Banana, Prima Fairytale Roses in Baby Pink and mini blue roses.  A Satin Sensations 5/8" Saffron ribbon bow lies in a top corner.

I was inspired to use this white background, pastel-flowered patterned paper by an early spring light snow fall.  Crocuses and early blooming mini daffodils were peeking through the snow covered ground.  The tulips drooping near the base of the snowman led me to believe this would be an appropriate image to use at this time regardless of the holly, berries and pine that usually point to Christmas-time.  Warm Tidings simply means good news so I felt that sentiment implied hope that Spring is near and made a good association to the sentiment that I used inside of this card.

Here's a view of the front of my completed card showing my use of Whimsy Stamps Meadow Magic, as designed by Elisabeth Bell, with her very busy birds . . .

The inside of my card is lightly decorated to coordinate with the front and contains an Inky Antics sentiment . . .

For a chance to win a fabulous prize, get over to the Elisabeth Bell's World Challenge Blog and add your entry into this month's Animal Antics challenge!
