Why Rosie's Book?

While growing up, I had a dear friend, Renee, that lived next door and with whom I spent much of my childhood. We grew, in different directions, and went on our merry way. Many years later, I ran into her parents and they kindly reminded me of the laughs they still have over my book. “What book?” I wondered with a puzzled look. "I don't remember a book." Hardy laughter accompanied their response. At some time during our childhood, I tried to convince Renee about something that her parents didn’t agree with. I told her that proof of its truth could be found “in my book.” Naturally she went home and tried to convince her parents of the same thing but they weren’t falling for it. She needed an edge and told them emphatically, “It’s in Rosie’s book!” After they caught their breaths from reborn laughter, they let me know how “Rosie’s book” has been cited for many other things throughout the years. They’ve also mentioned that they’d like to see “Rosie’s book” one day. I can’t remember all of the things that I said were in “my book” but I’m sure my dear friend’s parents can recall much more than I ever knew about – LOL!!! So, here it is . . . my version of things you might find In Rosie’s Book . . .

Crafts and Me Challenge: Make it Count! Add a Number!

The Dynamite Digi team at Crafts and Me Stamps wants to see a number on your project.  Memory Box is sponsoring this challenge and offering three dies to a randomly selected entry.  Find out more about this challenge and sponsor here.

I've used a newly released Christmas digi image by Sara Burrier called The Giving Angel.  The cookie tray she's carrying holds gingerbread men, trees, stars and other scrumptious treats.  This photo shows a closeup of my Copic-filled image.  I used a Tattered Angels Glimmer Screen Fanciful Stencil for airbrushing a background.

I've layered Bazzill green and rust with a touch of green bling to coordinate with My Mind's Eye Holly Jolly "Holly Berries" double-sided patterned paper.

Using Spellbinders Labels One for the "beyond the edge" technique allows those wings to keep their heavenly shape past the edge of the die.

A few QuicKutz holly leaf photo turns and mini gingerbread men add a nice border to enhance the holly in her hair and the cookies on her tray.  The calendar is from the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Mini Holidays set.

A ticket from a Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Odds and Ends set adds another number to my card.  I've used Tim Holtz idea-ology charm clip and Adornments star charm to match the theme.  A couple of QuicKutz scalloped corners and a bit of 3/16" gold sparkle edged ribbon help to pull it all together.  This photo shows the completed card front showing my use of The Giving Angel and how I've added a number to my project.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
