Why Rosie's Book?

While growing up, I had a dear friend, Renee, that lived next door and with whom I spent much of my childhood. We grew, in different directions, and went on our merry way. Many years later, I ran into her parents and they kindly reminded me of the laughs they still have over my book. “What book?” I wondered with a puzzled look. "I don't remember a book." Hardy laughter accompanied their response. At some time during our childhood, I tried to convince Renee about something that her parents didn’t agree with. I told her that proof of its truth could be found “in my book.” Naturally she went home and tried to convince her parents of the same thing but they weren’t falling for it. She needed an edge and told them emphatically, “It’s in Rosie’s book!” After they caught their breaths from reborn laughter, they let me know how “Rosie’s book” has been cited for many other things throughout the years. They’ve also mentioned that they’d like to see “Rosie’s book” one day. I can’t remember all of the things that I said were in “my book” but I’m sure my dear friend’s parents can recall much more than I ever knew about – LOL!!! So, here it is . . . my version of things you might find In Rosie’s Book . . .

Card Art with Copics: Blessed by Sara Burrier

I'm thrilled to have made some time to play with this wonderful child angel digital image recently released by Crafts and Me.  This sweet Sara Burrier image is named Blessed.

This photo shows my Copic-filled Blessed image . . . Note how the cooler toned wings appear further back while the warm toned banner looks like it's closer.

I layered some Little Yellow Bicycle cardstock and Festive Floral patterned paper from their Christmas Magic Collection.  Martha Stewart's Rings border punch adds a dainty touch to the bottom of the solid matting.  Spellbinders scalloped rectangles shape my Blessed image and Hero Arts sentiment as shown on the card base . . .

A Memory Box Holly Vine die cut adds a dimensional border.  Punch Bunch large holly leaves and several sizes of Kikyou form my handmade flowers.

I've layered a decorative ribbon bow on top of a lace bow.  I don't care for that bulkiness and will likely not do that again.

Here's a view of my card front . . .

Finally, this side view shows my completed card using Sara Burrier's Blessed digital image . . .

I've added this lovely child angel image to this Christmas card.  She'll also make a wonderful image for a Christening card or birth announcement.  Whenever you want to express that you're blessed for knowing someone or reminding them that they're blessed, this sweet image will easily convey such a message.  Ooo . . . have I got plans for her . . .
