Why Rosie's Book?

While growing up, I had a dear friend, Renee, that lived next door and with whom I spent much of my childhood. We grew, in different directions, and went on our merry way. Many years later, I ran into her parents and they kindly reminded me of the laughs they still have over my book. “What book?” I wondered with a puzzled look. "I don't remember a book." Hardy laughter accompanied their response. At some time during our childhood, I tried to convince Renee about something that her parents didn’t agree with. I told her that proof of its truth could be found “in my book.” Naturally she went home and tried to convince her parents of the same thing but they weren’t falling for it. She needed an edge and told them emphatically, “It’s in Rosie’s book!” After they caught their breaths from reborn laughter, they let me know how “Rosie’s book” has been cited for many other things throughout the years. They’ve also mentioned that they’d like to see “Rosie’s book” one day. I can’t remember all of the things that I said were in “my book” but I’m sure my dear friend’s parents can recall much more than I ever knew about – LOL!!! So, here it is . . . my version of things you might find In Rosie’s Book . . .

Summer Card Art with Copics: Ladybug Crafts Ink Window Seat Billie

Last week there was a new release of 16 super cute Billie Bear images, designed by Jan White exclusively for Ladybug Crafts Ink. You've got to hop over to the challenge blog to see how the Lovely Ladybugs have shown their use of several of these newly released images!

I've used Window Seat Billie to create a set of four seasonal cards.  I had so much fun playing with this lovely image and my head is still spinning with ideas on more ways to use it.  You'll have to visit again soon to see how I've used Window Seat Billie for my Autumn card. This post contains the info on my Summer card.  You can find my use of this image for a winter-themed card here and my spring-themed card here.

I printed the image onto a Authentique "Beautiful" pink plaid paper then fussy cut and carefully placed the new drapes to carry out my Summertime theme.

I used three different masks to add color and texture to my image.
1.  I cut out just the window glass areas to stamp a summer tree scene from an old Stampin' Up! A Tree for All Seasons set.  I also used this mask to airbrush the ground, sky and a bit of sun light.
2.  I cut out just the bear to add texture using the nasty rag technique by pouncing Copic colored fibers of a piece of wash cloth over the Copic-filled bear.
3.  I cut out the full image to airbrush the wall areas and floor.

This view shows my Copic-filled image for a summer-themed card.  Glossy Accents covers the hearts and Inkssentials Enamel Accents black provides shiny, dimensional eyes.

Layers of Bazzill cardstock with My Mind's Eye Penny Lane Tiny Dancer "Ballet" Dancing Circles patterned paper form my side open card and faux stitching adds a contrasting border.  Satin Sensations 5/8" Fuchsia pink ribbon provides a border and bow.  A few Recollections black mini brads line two corners and holds a K&Company Life's Journey Vintage Charms silver butterfly charm.  A Spellbinders Medallion Four adds a circular element behind my image.  A Technique Tuesday Borderline: Same Time Next Year set adds my stamped summer words.

A My Favorite Things Die-namics Fancy Flourish provides movement behind my flower cluster made of a Recollections Mulberry Paper Flower and Prima Fairytale Roses Baby Pink.

Here's a view of my completed card front showcasing Ladybug Crafts Ink Window Seat Billie that includes a popped up hello sentiment from an Inkadinkado sentiments set . . .

The inside is decorated similar to the front and includes a blank sheet to include a handwritten note . . .

I'm including this pic to show you other ways that I've filled this wonderful image for all four seasons.   Make sure you stop by over the next few days to see how I've used them!  This image can be easily used for holiday cards with paper-pieced holiday curtains, a coordinating scene in the window, a hat on Billie and the image surrounded by holiday die cuts!  OH MY . . . the possibilities!!!

I've shown my use of this image for a winter-themed card here and my spring-themed card here.
