Why Rosie's Book?

While growing up, I had a dear friend, Renee, that lived next door and with whom I spent much of my childhood. We grew, in different directions, and went on our merry way. Many years later, I ran into her parents and they kindly reminded me of the laughs they still have over my book. “What book?” I wondered with a puzzled look. "I don't remember a book." Hardy laughter accompanied their response. At some time during our childhood, I tried to convince Renee about something that her parents didn’t agree with. I told her that proof of its truth could be found “in my book.” Naturally she went home and tried to convince her parents of the same thing but they weren’t falling for it. She needed an edge and told them emphatically, “It’s in Rosie’s book!” After they caught their breaths from reborn laughter, they let me know how “Rosie’s book” has been cited for many other things throughout the years. They’ve also mentioned that they’d like to see “Rosie’s book” one day. I can’t remember all of the things that I said were in “my book” but I’m sure my dear friend’s parents can recall much more than I ever knew about – LOL!!! So, here it is . . . my version of things you might find In Rosie’s Book . . .

Elisabeth Bell's World Challenge: Non-Christmas Image on a Christmas Card

The Digi Bells design team over at the Elisabeth Bell's World Challenge Blog wants to see your use of a non-Christmas Image on your Christmas projects.  A very lucky randomly selected entry will win TWO Elisabeth Bell digi images of their choice AND £10 for your choice of EB stamps from Crafts and Me Stamps!  You can find out more about this challenge and sponsors here.

The lovely Teresa at Crafts and Me Stamps in the UK sells EB images from several rubber- and clear-stamp companies.  You'll find EB images from Whiff of Joy, Sweet Pea Stamps, and Belles 'n Whistles!

I've used this sweet A Warm Fuzzy Hug rubberstamped image designed by Elisabeth Bell for Sweet Pea Stamps.  You can find her at the Sweet Pea Stamps online store here.  She's also available at Crafts and Me Stamps here.  I've used Spellbinders Classic Ovals, large and small, for the Beyond-the-Edge technique to allow her braided hair to flow over the edge.  This pic shows a closer view of my Copic-filled image.  Note how I've used the Nasty Rag Technique on the bear for fun, furry texture.

I've layered punched shapes from Punch Bunch punches to form my handmade chrysanthemums that surround the Stampin' Up! Sincere Salutations sentiment.  The flowers are lightly painted with Diamond Stickles for amazing shimmer.  A couple of Cheery Lynn Designs die cut Mini Fanciful Flourishes provide some classy, leafy swirls.

Layers of Bo Bunny's Snowfall Collection's Snowfall Stripe, Snowfall Blizzard and Snowfall Wintertime, with Bazzill's Typhoon, Tropical and Nautical blues form my card.  An EK Success Snowflake border punch provides snowflakes throughout the center strip as well as the corner snowflakes with a Memory Box self-adhesive pearl at each snowflake center.

Here's a view of the front of my completed side open card showing my use of Sweet Pea Stamps' A Warm Fuzzy Hug, as designed by Elisabeth Bell, a non-Christmas image, on a Christmas card . . .
